Carolyn was nothing special. If she were more intelligent, I think she could have used her celebrity for something more positive other than shopping and wallowing about her situation which she should have well known since she had experience JFK Jr. I also don't think JFK Jr. was terribly smart and that's why he was attracted to Carolyn as she was difficult and attractive but there was really nothing behind that. In the end, I think it's obvious that they would have divorced but it's a shame that JFK Jr.'s piloting skills took down his wife (who I'm sure would have married somebody else) and his sister-in-law who was at the prime of her career.
I totally agree. They both had horrible temperaments and John should have known better to fly that night. It was illegal for him to do so. He loved risk. It's too bad he took 2 other lives with him.

I think she was very special. Why would so many people have been captivated by her every move and everything she wore if she were nothing special? I don't think anyone knows what would have happened in their marriage. I tend to believe they would have stayed together, had kids, and that she would have learned to deal with the excruciating media attention. It would be incredibly difficult to go from an anonymous person to one who is given no privacy and is heckled so that she will respond for a photograph. It seems cruel to me. I think complicated is better than difficult to describe her-but every woman is complicated. And I think both Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and John F.Kennedy, Jr. were incredibly intelligent.
I think she was finding her way in a life that was very different from the one she lived before. I think she would have figured out what she wanted to do with time. She had a lot to offer, and I think it's unkind to assert otherwise.

I'd describe Carolyn's style as NY minimalist chic. It reflects intelligence and simplicity, thoughtfulness and refinement. They were terrific people, no question that they all would have made meaningful social contributions. Such a great loss.
All 3 are alive. They were never on the plane. Navy Seal or an Air Force pilot drove up and jumped out. Many people have seen all 3. they went on Witness Protection fearing for their lives. Someone tried to crash the plane and he found out about it.
